Ros-Lehtinen Says Harris Interactive Poll Got It Right: Miami is The Least Stressed City In America & It’s Due To Our Warm Weather & Different Cultures

October 21, 2009

Washington, DC --- Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a senior member of the Florida Congressional Delegation, issued the following statement after Miami was found to be the least stressful city to live in the United States. The survey was conducted by Harris Interactive polling company.

Ros-Lehtinen’s statement:

“The Harris poll discovered what all Miamians know from living in one of the many great cities in South Florida: We got it good.  From our tropical, breezy, cloudless skies to our sand swept beaches and palm trees, Miami prides itself on its beautiful weather.

During the months of October, November and December, when the rest of the country is experiencing the cool days of fall and the coming frigid winters, most Miamians can be found frolicking on the beach soaking up the sun and warm weather.

Our laid back attitude is also well known and in Miami, business deals can be sealed over a tropical drink under cloudless skies. The residents of our wonderful city appreciate its beauty and we are proud of it. Without a doubt, the mix of different cultures adds a touch of international flair to Miami. Yet, at the same time, our city is home to all of us who reside in it.

Regardless of Miami’s beauty and lifestyle, we have to also realize that Miami is among the poorest cities and we must all work together to bring jobs to our area and provide more opportunities to all.

This is a great classification for Miami and it is about time others discovered our little secret.”
