Ros-Lehtinen Introduces Congressional Resolution Honoring Cong. Young and Co-Sponsors Legislation to Designate the C.W. Bill Young Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center

“Florida’s champion of active duty servicemen and women and veterans deserves no less an honor.”

Miami, Florida – Today, Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a senior member of Florida’s Congressional delegation, introduced a congressional resolution honoring Cong. Bill Young’s service to his community in the House of Representatives and also co-sponsored legislation, sponsored by Cong. Jeff Miller of Pensacola, to re-name the Bay Pines VA Medical Center, located in Saint Petersburg, Florida and inside Congressman Young’s former congressional district, to the C.W. Bill Young Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Ros-Lehtinen joins a bi-partisan delegation of lawmakers from Florida and across the country in co-sponsoring this legislation.

Statement by Ros-Lehtinen:

“Bill was an inspiration to many Floridians and a fierce advocate for members of our armed services and veterans alike. His determination to do right by these men and women is a shining example of what a public servant can accomplish for his constituents. His memory will forever be enshrined on a building occupied by those for whom he dedicated his life's mission. Florida’s champion of active duty servicemen and women and veterans deserves no less an honor.”
