Ros-Lehtinen Thanks Albanian Foreign Minister for Resettling Remaining Camp Liberty Residents

(Washington, DC) – U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Chairman of the Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee, in a meeting with members of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, thanked the Foreign Minister of Albania, His Excellency Ditmir Bushati, for agreeing to resettle the remaining residents of Camp Liberty in Albania. Statement by Ros-Lehtinen:

“In a meeting with Minister Bushati, I expressed my deep appreciation to his government for agreeing to accept Camp Liberty’s remaining residents into Albania on humanitarian grounds. Those at Liberty have long been suffering from persecution and attacks without adequate protection from the Iraqi government and it is long past time their safety is secured. I thank the Albanian government for its compassion and urge the administration to do its part to help Albania resettle Liberty’s residents as soon as possible.”
