Cong. Ros-Lehtinen’s Chief of Staff, Art Estopiñan, was Recognized By The Spanish Foreign Minister For His Efforts In Expanding Relations Between USA and Spain

Miami, Florida – On Friday May 3,  Mr. Arturo Estopiñan, Chief of Staff of Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), was recognized by the Spanish Consulate in Miami, Florida for his efforts in expanding relations between the United States and Spain. Estopiñan was one of six recipients of the prestigious Friend Of Spain / Brand of Spain Award. Other receipients were: Governor Rick Scott, Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner, Mayor Tomas Regalado, Dr. Eduardo Padron, and Armando Codina.

The event took place aboard the Spanish ship "Juan Sebastian de Alcano" which is anchored in the Bicentennial Park marina in downtown Miami.
Mr. Estopiñan stressed: "Spain is a great friend of the United States and the bilateral relationship enjoyed by the two countries is beneficial in every way. I will continue to work hard to expand the ties that bind us because a good relationship between our great nations is important for economic progress with both Latin America and the European Union."

In a letter to Mr. Estopiñan, the Consul General of Spain in Miami, Cristina Barrios, said:  “As Consul General of Spain in Miami, I take great pleasure in informing you that a jury comprising representatives of leading Spanish companies and the Government of Spain has chosen you as a Friend of the Spain Brand in Florida. This reflects the well-deserved recognition of your association with Spain, and of the contribution your efforts have made in further strengthening the close ties of friendship between Spain and Florida, strategic partners in political, commercial, tourism and cultural spheres. This is the first time that Spain is granting this type of recognition in the US. I wish to congratulate you on your receiving this distinction and thank you for your support in disseminating knowledge of Spain and its image in the United States.”
