(WASHINGTON) – U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) made the following statement today after organizing Members of the House of Representatives this week to speak in support of kidnapped U.S. Marine veteran Armando Torres. Corporal Torres was kidnapped on his father’s ranch just across the U.S.-Mexico border over two months ago on May 14. Statement by Ros-Lehtinen:

“I call upon the Obama administration to speak publicly in support of Armando Torres and send a message to his kidnappers that the United States will not give up until Armando is returned to us safe and sound. The United States and the incredible Marine brotherhood will not stand for the kidnapping of one of our own. I am so grateful to my colleagues for speaking in support of Corporal Torres this week and I look forward to additional Members rising on his behalf in the coming days.
