Washington, DC – Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) is pleased that the House overwhelmingly approved a bill that creates a streamlined agent and broker licensing system that strengthens the competitive insurance market.

This bill reforms and modernizes a key area of the state insurance business: agent and broker licensing. Ileana supports this legislation because it will benefit the consumer through increased competition among insurance agents leading to more choices for consumers.

Said Ros-Lehtinen, “Our hardworking American families need a financial break. This bill increases competition among insurance agents and brokers which should lead to lower insurance costs. This legislation streamlines the licensing of agents and brokers and more agents and brokers means the American consumer has more choices to pick from, creating increased competition among insurance companies.”
