Ros-Lehtinen Votes For Legislation That Allows Persons With Valid Concealed Firearms Permit To Carry Concealed Firearm In Another State That Also Issues Same Permits; Congresswoman Says That This Bill Will Strengthen Our Second Amendment Rights

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen voted for legislation that would allow persons with a valid state issued concealed weapons permit to carry a concealed firearm in another state that also issues the same kind of permit. The bill was approved by the House today, Wednesday November 16th.

The legislation H.R. 822 “National Right to Carry Reciprocity Act” adds uniformity to our nation’s numerous concealed weapons laws by applying this particular federal law to all states.

Said Ros-Lehtinen, “This is a common sense approach that remedies a problem faced by carriers of concealed weapons permit. It absolutely makes no sense that a person with a valid state issued concealed weapons permit cannot carry it over to another state that also has these same types of laws  on its books. This legislation will make it easier for law abiding Americans to carry concealed firearms in states that already allow it, and most importantly, it strengthens our Second Amendment rights.”
