Said Ros-Lehtinen, “It is always an honor to speak and meet with the women of MAR For Cuba, one
of the most active anti-Castro organizations in South Florida. Saturday’s meeting is important as MAR will
be recognizing the exceptional work of Antunez and Yris, two brave Cuban activists who have been
harassed, beaten and detained by Castro’s thugs, with Antunez serving a 17 year prison sentence simply
for asking that his human rights be respected. I would like to thank Sylvia Iriondo and the other
outstanding and patriotic women of MAR for their continuing work on behalf of a free Cuba.
