TPS For Hondurans Extended Until January 5, 2015; Ros-Lehtinen Welcomes Decision & Says It’s The Right Thing To Do For Thousands Of Hondurans In The U.S.

Apr 3, 2013

Miami, Florida ---  Today Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) welcomed the decision by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to extend Temporary Protective Status (TPS) for eligible Hondurans for 18 more months from July 6, 2013 until January 5, 2015.

Said Ros-Lehtinen, “I’m glad that DHS has made this just decision for the many Hondurans who live and work in our nation and especially in South Florida. Our Honduran brothers and sisters work, pay their taxes, and contribute to our community so this was the right thing to do for them. The need for TPS underscores the urgency in fixing our broken immigration system.”
